Scouts set up their own tents. They practiced wood tool safety and gathered wood for a fire. They worked as a team to build a fire. And learned about fire safety. Success!! Ended the evening with s’mores , star gazing and visiting. Scouts rose early the next morning to prepare breakfast. Scouts learned about cooking safety.Bacon and eggs on the menu.Breakfast After breakfast Troop 60 studied basic map-and-compass skills and practiced taking a bearing.Troop 60 members discussed patrol spirit and chose the Natchitoches Ninjas as a patrol name, designed an emblem and flag, chose a patrol call and started leaning a patrol song that they learned from a Troop 60 member of the 1960s.
