Tonight’s meeting, led by SPL Jacob and assisted by Dr Wheat, reviewed canine medical needs, including diseases that can and cannot pass between dogs and humans, emergency medical care and muzzling, and treatments for common injuries.

Also, because of a software snafu, last week’s meeting update wasn’t posted. Please join me in congratulating our newest First Class Scout, Sawyer! He successfully completed his Board of Review last week. Congrats Sawyer!

On Saturday, Scouts and volunteers were led by Austin in the installation of his Eagle Project, constructing fencing for a community garden. Congratulations, Austin, for the outstanding leadership shown in accomplishing this significant step on the Trail to Eagle!

Tonight Scouts learned more about responsible dog care under the outstanding leadership of SPL Jacob while the adult leadership committee put the finishing touches on scheduling outings (the completed calendar will be posted asap).

At the end of the meeting, Grace received her cloth Scout rank patch: congratulations, Grace!

Please note that Austin seeks helpers for his Eagle Project Installation this Saturday, September 7th, from 1-7 at First United Methodist Church to fence in the garden plot next to the parking lot.

This is an important leadership event for Austin and a service opportunity for helpers! He asks that shovels and gloves be brought if possible. Hope to see everyone there!
